Meet Dan DeYoung, the Accounting Director at Elysium Legacy Group (ELG), bringing over 31 years of deep expertise in auditing, accounting, and business advisory services to the funeral care and legacy preservation industry. Dan is a seasoned financial leader with a strong commitment to accuracy, transparency, and strategic guidance that supports dignified and sustainable operations.

With three decades of experience at KPMG, including as a National Office Partner, Dan stayed at the forefront of evolving accounting standards and industry developments. He led the national team responsible for implementing Critical Audit Matters (CAMs), developing KPMG’s methodology, training programs, tools, and support for audit teams across the country and internationally. Dan frequently presented to both internal and external audiences on complex financial reporting matters.

As an audit partner, Dan served SEC registrant clients across multiple industries, including healthcare, technology, and telecommunications. He worked closely with senior management and boards, providing valuable insights on financial reporting, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and capital raising. His client experience includes leading engagements for companies such as DaVita, RealNetworks, SonoSite, and Pope Resources.

Dan’s meticulous approach and extensive knowledge ensure that Elysium Legacy Group maintains the highest standards of financial integrity and operational excellence. His background in navigating complex regulatory environments and supporting business growth translates directly into building a strong, trustworthy financial foundation for ELG’s mission of compassionate funeral care.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dan has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to service and community. He previously served as Board Member, Treasurer, and President of Habitat for Humanity of East King County, where he led a successful merger that significantly expanded services to families in need. He has also been actively involved with the ALS Association, helping raise over $350,000 for research and awareness, and regularly participates in charitable rides and events including Ragnar relays, Obliteride, Bike MS, and Tour DaVita.
